I received this same exact call about 5-6 months ago but it was a higher amount I was supposedly receiving. I just got a call again from the foreign people. they call from an unknown number and tell you to call this 239-214-7054 number. and i stopped the guy whom I couldn't understand anyway. and said let me guess, THE US government has decided to give me a $7000 grant right? he said yes. I said ok and I bet I have to go get a Pre paid card from a store and put a couple hundred dollars on it right? he said no,You have to only put $199 on the card to activate it so I can put your $7000 onto the card. I laughed and said ok why can't you just put the money on the card I already have? he says because some cards do not have a high enough limit to hold $7000. I said mine does, my prepaid card limit is $!00,000. he stumbled for a moment and managed to say. the US government cannot have any information about your bank accounts or any personal information about you. I laughed again and said Really? then how is it you are a government agent supposedly and you know my name my address my phone number my E-mail address and you also know that i havent had any bankruptcy filed in the passed 5 years? he replied with umm umm sir this is just the way the goverment has set this special account up to be disperced. I asked if he was from niggeria or india or the middle east. he said no I am from washington dc. I said BULL SHIT. you are as American as a volvo. he promised that my $199 would stay on the card along with my $7000 that would be added. I explained again the same phone call I had recieved in prior months. where they wanted me to send them a few hundred dollars to get my money. and he said well it wasnt this department that call might have been a scam. but oddly enough it was the same exact accent and the same basic thing where they want you to put your hard earned money onto an untraceable card to be extracted at their leisure without consequence other than you being $200 poorer. screw these scam artists trying to fund their 3rd world bull shit on my money. I suggest you call the number when it is given to you and tell em " go to hell you terrorist piece of s@!t. good luck to you all.......
Pretty sure this is a scam number. I've been called twice with different people and different questions. Do not answer.

This called demanded a ransom payment in return for the live of both my parents. They contacted my siblings as well. According to the Police in PR, this is a situation that is becoming the norm from prisons in PR.
I received a call from 610-879-4540 claiming to be from Blue Cross Blue Shield. Caller gave me a call back number of 877-745-5479. I fear that it is a scam and that I gave them too much info on the first call to me.

This is the 3rd time I received this kind of call. The phone number on Caller ID is "Unknown". The user claims they are representing Windows and that my PC has been having problems with the Windows update for the past 3 weeks. They ask if I am near my PC so they can guide me as they look at my PC and show me the errors and then work with me to get them corrected. The person claims his name is Alex Jones. When I asked for his phone number to call him back when I am near my PC, he said it was 347-647-2299. That number is disconnected.<br /><br />This is a scam from someone trying to gain access to your PC. Do not let them!!!!!
SCAM This call came in @ 7:44 AM. Caller knew my first name & said they were calling regarding a Windows machine that I am using (before I hung up).

iRS scam don't listen to what they have to say they sound from India they will try to threaten you with an arrest warrant don't send pre payed card or money cards
Scammer scaring people with "your computer is downloading malicious programs". Not sure what he is trying to sell - possibly wanting to have people install his software so he can control their computer - and have full access to the data.
these people keep calling me saying they want to get into my computer because it is giving a notice that hackers are trying to get in. I'm sure it is some scam bullshit. I would like to find out who they are.
