They are calling saying they are the legal affairs department for the us treasury.....but they dont come back as a govt issued number....does anyone know about this number<br />
This number and 10 others are calling back to back. scams, loans. We tell them we are not interested and another call from a different area calls with the same garbage.
I received three calls from this number today. The first I did not answer; caller did not leave a message. The second call, I did answer. The caller asked to speak to a woman whose name I did not know. I told the caller there was no one by that name at this number. He disconnected without saying anything. The third call, I also answered. A man and woman were both speaking, apparently to each other, in a foreign language. I couldn't identify the language but the accents sounded Indian. They did not ask to speak to me. I said hello, several times, louder each time. The man and woman did not seem to hear me. I finally said, very loudly, that if they called me again I would file a complaint with the FTC. Again, they apparently did not hear me, and I disconnected. I called the number back and got the message "the number you dialed is not in service." I *have* filed a complaint with the FTC (at https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx).

a voice message that sounded like a computer, female voice, said "Hello, we have been trying to reach you. This call is your official final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuits against you. To get more information about this case file please call immediately on our department number 929 800 4559. I repeat 929 800 4559"
So I got a call from supposedly the IRS. I was given a number that I didn't quite trust. When I looked it up here, my suspicions were confirmed as I'm pretty sure the IRS doesn't call from a Verizon cellular phone. Thanks for that confirmation
This site says its an invalid #, but its not.
Yes I believe this is scammer who will try to claim he has legal documents from a "relative" using friends and families' names and try to get you to give their phone numbers out.
