I'm the real Thomas Kawaii, and I'm not the one making these calls. I'm a victim of identity theft. The scammers (likely calling from India) are impersonating California lawyers by using bar numbers and names found in the public records at www.calbar.org and www.calbar.ca.gov. If you get these calls, don't pay the money that that they demand. Instead, contact law enforcement in your jurisdiction (police, Sheriff, FBI, District Attorney, Attorney General) and encourage them to investigate by tracing the accounts that the perps want you to send money to. Once these criminals are identified, the U.S. State Department might be persuaded work with the Indian government to have their own law enforcement put a stop to the scam. I will cooperate with any law enforcement agency that wants to investigate and set up a sting. These criminals need to be stopped. Please see my REAL website at www.kawaiiLaw.com for assurances that no lawyer is calling you.
