I am in IT - one of our users called me to report that someone from 855-830-4110 called her cell number and stated she was a victim of malware via Outlook. She refused to give any info, but instead asked for a number to give to the IT dept for us to call back.
He gave 855-830-4110 x239.
After searching, i could not find this number listed.
I went into our antivirus/malware server and didn't see her laptop or phone info listed in there for any malware or viruses, so I called the number.
The number belongs to AAA Insurance.
The Rep I spoke to said that all of their extensions are at least 5 digits and they have a few 800 numbers that they don't use any more (as in give out to the public), but the number will still ring to their phone center.
He stated they have nothing to do with malware/viruses/etc, only AAA Insurance, and he suspects a scam.
