They never leave a message.
This is a phishing scam. "Calling from under Windows Operating system" I hope it isn't to heavy and they are crushed! The lady from India got irate when I asked a few questions such as their telephone number and first tried to say she was calling from San Francisco then admitted she was calling from India. I was "wasting her time" when I said there is no company called Windows Operating system and that was a falsehood. She told me I did not understand and I said yes since she did not have a command of the English language it was hard to understand when they claim their company is an operating system. she then hung up on me. Gee, Sorry to waste YOUR TIME..
Calls from this number sound like they are calling from a Microsoft Call Center, although they never actually identify themselves as Microsoft employees, the caller typically ask you to "Go to Your Microsoft Computer" and Key in a web address. They claim that a new Computer Virus attack is happening, and that they have somehow identified that your computer has this virus. They claim that that if you key in the website name and press enter that it will take you to a site that will walk you through removing the claimed virus. This has happened several times now, usually calling all people in a close geographic area, then they will switch phone numbers and try the same scam again. This is either a Phishing attempt to obtain your personal information, or they may even download an actual Virus to your computer if you actually go to their website.
Microsoft or Apple will never call you directly to try to fix a problem like this, UNLESS you have called them to report an incident or problem, and they have given you a confirmation number so that you can make certain you are talking with a real Microsoft or Apple Employee.
I urge you to use caution if someone calls you with this kind of approach. If you call the same number back, you will not be successful in reaching anyone, simply a recording indicating that the number you have dialed is no longer in service...
Be Careful out there!
Call on prepaid cell phone. Did not properly identify themselves. Lady named Ashley stated I was selected for something but would not elbaorate as to the site I "supposedly" signed up on . She would not let me talk, said the call would be recorded for whatever purpose and asked my name. After giving my name, the call disconnected and I have now blocked the number. I am on the NDNC Registry and havre been flooded with BS calsl for several days now.
Automatic message saying they're from the irs & they have a lawsuit against. This is their final attempt to reach me.
My caller ID showed that the IRS scam call that was on my voicemail came from this number. Something like "This is Internal Revenue Services [not 'Service'] and this is final notice we are filing lawsuit [not 'a lawsuit'] against you. Call [a 206 area code number] for more information on this case file."
Definitely, positively, absolutely a scam. Google "IRS phone scam."
Are you able to give me data on US files ONLY??
IF SO, get the hell off this system!
Are you able to provide me with this CANADIAN location????
IF you are for US numbers only, then get the hell off this system.
