I used to have this phone number. I got sometimes hundreds of calls every day, about every 30 seconds. The callers told me that I had called them, or a call came in to them from my phone number, asking for money, some kind of fraud deal. I got ATT to change my number because I didn't want the hassle and headache and certainly didn't want anything to do with anyone doing fraud, especially since I wasn't making any phone calls except to my mother, who lives out of state. This is a scammer's number, I don't know how but they use the internet to make it look like they are calling from this number.
Got a phone call from unlisted number claiming that I would go to jail if I did not call this number. Or something like that...
These dumb asses keep calling and leaving a message on my machine saying that they represent the state of Illinois. The "person" supposedly leaving the message is Keri Monroe from per-trial processing for the state of Illinois and that "this Department will be actively perusing you at your place of employment and/or your residence regarding allegations filed with the Cook County Clerks Office, and that "you have a legal right" to resolve this case with the plaintiff outside of court. you can contact us regarding these allegation but once you have been located you forfeit that right. The name referenced is only vaguely similar to one of my family members. I got a similar call a few weeks ago and they asked if the person lived here and I told them they didn't and acted like I had nothing to complain about, but these messages continue.

Hello;<br />here at ATS Financial we purchased a scanner. Yet to receive... have the confirmation and have tried to call, yet there are no answers. Am now trying to see if this has fallen under a fraud purchase.

This is scam. Calls from this number are recordings telling you that it is the IRS contacting you to tell you that you are being sued. It does not mention your name. It gives a number for you to call back -- (202) 684-6433.
